My Dear Students and Guardians,
We congratulate you all to select this institution for pursuit of higher education. The authority of this age-old college has become more convinced that earlier with acommitment to turn challenges into opportunities, we can now ensure our academic accountability and social responsibility. We have been striving hard to ensure much better academic environment where teaching-learning activities would be more satisfying and more rewarding. Considering the importance of ICT based teaching-learning environment, we have initiated to convert traditional classrooms to ICT based classrooms. We have also given importance on computer literacy and soft-skill development of the students and for the same a state of the art Language Laboratory, a software platform to improve effective communication and a Computer Lab with modern facilities have been installed. Besides, our institution provides opportunity to the students for participation in Finishing School Programme which is given to the final year UG students for their soft skill development.
Of late, the college has decided to form two academic societies Hastikanya and Sheelbhadra- one cultural, another literary, in fond memories of two legendary figures of Gauripur, Pratima Barua Pandey and Rebati Mohan Duttachoudhury. Through a modern approach to rekindle the spirit of the past as well as to maintain a healthy interface between the widening spheres of higher education and the socio- intellectual responsibility, these societies would primarily be engaged in education, research and training of the youths on folksong, performing art, culture, translation studies and literature of this region.
To sustain whatever quality we have been able to achieve in the past and to pursue our continuous journey for excellence, I urge my colleagues and students to be more committed and innovative with greater sense of motivation and participation. I beseech continuous support and suggestions from all quarters, especially from guardians and the people of Gauripur.
