The college library was established along with the inception of the college in 1964.At the initial stage the royal family of Gauripur has contributed a lot in the process of growth by donating books and almirahs. Under the care and guidance of the college authority and the liberal grants of the UGC the college library has grown into a big source of knowledge not only for the students but also the teachers of the college as well.
In the year 2012, the P.B.College library glorified itself with the name of Alokesh Ch Barua, a versatile genius who served this institution in the status of professor of Philosophy and also the vice principal for few years.
Objectives:
The main objectives of the college library are to furnish the students the background material on the work to be done in the class. To encourage the students, develop skills for self education and to introduce them with various types of documents.

2. Library committee:
There is a Library committee which is advisory in nature, as per government norms. The Principal of the college is the Chairman and the Librarian is the Secretary of the committee.

Other services: i. Poor Student Book Bank:
The library has poor students Book Bank facility to provide necessary books for the economically weaker students of the college. Through these facilities books are issued to the needy and deserving students who may borrow books for the whole academic year. However certain official formalities such as, family income certificate, BPL card etc. will have to be produced at the time of issuing books. Such books which are issued at the beginning of the session may keep up to the annual examination.Total no of books are 674.
ii. N-LIST (National Library And Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content): The College library has access to e-resources through N-List (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) Under this programme the college library members enjoys access to 3800+ e-journals (including current issues with 10 years back files) and 80,000+ e-books.
iii. Reprography:
The library provides reprography facilities to the students at cheaper rates. Students can photocopy their required document @.50 per copy.
iv. Internet:
The circulation section of the library is fully computerized and four internet access points has been installed in the library along with wi fi facility.
v. Information Bulletin:
To provide first hand information to the readers important newspapers clipping and educational notices are displayed in the information bulletin.
vi. Reading Room:
The library has spacious reading rooms for teachers and students. The library has a good numbers of books collections including text and reference and a lot of periodicals and magazines.
