A brief note:
The department of Education is one of the Non-sanctioned Department among the departments of Pramathesh Barua College which had been established in 2004.
Initially, the Subject ‘Education’ was included in the College as general course in the degree level was started from the Academic Session 2004-05. Subsequently, Education for Honours /Major Course in TDC (three year degree) level was introduced from the session 2015-16. Presently the Department has updated its course- curriculum as per NEP 2020 from the Academic session 2023-24. Now the Department has both Major and Minor courses as per FYUGP in under graduate level including Higher Secondary courses. Apart from these regular courses, the Department also offers some Skill based courses, Project based activities, Add on courses, some stimulating programmes , to the willing students of various classes for Major and Minor courses to develop their skill, efficiency and problem based writing strategy.
The Department has well equipped laboratory to carryout Laboratory based practical classes. Moreover, the Department also has a Departmental library to provide text books and reference books to the needy students. Apart from Departmental Library, there is a central library in the College having huge stock of text books, reference books, offline-online Journals to facilitate students to develop their study habit as per present needs and context.

It is worth mentioning that a good number of students are getting admitted for studying both major/Minor courses most of which are coming out with shine results.
Mission and vision of the Department:
Education is the process of facilitating learning and acquisition of knowledge, skills, efficiency, values, beliefs and habits. Keeping these in view, following missions and visions have been laid down by the Department for the greater benefit of the student community:
(a) To disseminate knowledge among the student Community of this locality and a broad keeping in view to enhance quality education and computer skills among the students. Hence our future plan is to increase the number of computer in the Department and thereby to provide some basic knowledge of computer to students for making them capable of access education and information through internet which is essential for quality education and quality up- gradation.
(b) To undertake community related extension activities like education oriented awareness programme, discussion on various educational commissions, teaching methods, execution of RTE 2009 in compulsory schooling period and also to discuss the problems related to compulsory Schooling if any and put suggestions thereon.
(c) To undertake faculty and students exchange programme and knowledge sharing under MOU with different colleges.
(d) To undertake minor /major/ in house projects by the interested faculty members under the scheme of UGC fund or sponsored by any authority for quality up- gradation of the faculty members and department in particular and for the College in general.
(e) To organize Departmental and Inter-Departmental Seminar.
(f) To undertake Faculty Induction Programme (FIP).
Goals and Objectives of the Department:
To provide comparative better education to the students and thereby to create some graduates who will be comparatively better for school teachers and other fields, Secondly, to produce some brilliant graduate students for pursuing higher education to different disciplines.
Learning/Programme Objectives:
The educational objectives of our program are to ensure that the graduates are fundamentally strong, practical, collaborative, and professionally efficient. The objectives are:-
